Back in the good old BA days, when the colectivo cost ochenta centavos, Sudestada offered one of the best lunch specials in Palermo, especially for those who needed some spice. Fast forward a few years, add a 50% price increase, and this Southeast Asian inspired restaurant still has it down: appetizer, main dish and drink for less than AR$60.
There are generally two appetizer options to choose from, like the dumplings filled with pork in a soy garlic sauce. The section choice varies and includes anywhere from a salad, soup or vegetable croquettes. The pork dumplings are delish, especially soaked in the sweet soy sauce. For a main course, diners can choose from five different options, with selection that includes dishes like chicken & pork fried rice, chicken curry, pork Thai noodles, stir fried fish and vegetables, and stir fried beef and vegetables. Best part: you can actually ask for the dishes extra picante (spicy) and they do come out with a good bit of heat. Accompanied by their special Thai lemonade or a glass of white wine and you have a great afternoon.

Com: Stir fried rice with chicken, pork and veggies served with a side of sweet and spicy chili sauce
Despite a few chewy pieces of pork, the Thai Noodles were very good served in a lick-the-bowl sauce. The Com was just alright, but it looks like they used the frozen pack from the grocery store of carrots, corn and peas – something I could have made myself, so that turned me off a bit. Bo Xao is usually a good go-to order, while perhaps a bit greasy at times, the bold flavors make for a great spicy lunch. Overall, Sudestada remains to be a great place for a weekday lunch.

I liked my lunch at Sudestada apart from the chewy bits. Those dumps were the bomb! Who was your hand model by the way?… beautiful hands dem!
Such beautiful hands… maybe this hand model should go pro?
do you know if they offer this special on weekends and until what time?
