A Serious Eater's Guide to Buenos Aires and Beyond

Paladar Buenos Aires: Una Experiencia de Aromas y Sabores

Posted on October 9, 2010 5 Comments

What’s the best way to spend a birthday? Eating delicious food paired with lovely wines and having someone else pay for it.  Husband and wife, Chef and Sommelier duo Pablo and Ivana open up their charming Villa Crespo home to offer a 5 course menu of elegant food paired with carefully selected wines.  The warm red-toned mood lighting, intimate ambience, mellow yet not cheesy music, and wonderful service aid to the delightful dining experience at Paladar Buenos Aires.

Aperitivo: Langostinos apanados aliño de coco y cilantro. Laborum Torrontés 2009

Shrimps, perfectly cooked with the best crunchy bite.  The first wine was the Laborum Torrontés.  It was my favorite of the night.

Entrada: Greens, mango, warm brie cheese served with a red berry vinaigrette. Amauta Rosado 2008

Principal: Bondiola braseada, reducción de cerveza negra, batatas confit, y relish de repollo colorado. Amauta Cabernet-Merlot 2006 y Laborum Malbec 2006

Prepostre: Pincho de ananá grillado y menta

Postre: Parfait de chocolate blanco, Mousse de maracuyá y crocante de bananas. Café Nespresso Y Té Amarte

Who needs birthday cake when I scarfed down this plate of delicious sweetness?
